Support SB 217 – Remove school enrollment barriers for kids living in informal kinship care arrangements.
Support SB 84 – Extend the “opt back in” window for youth between the ages of 18-21 who choose to re-engage their independent living services after leaving care, from 60 days to 180 days.

Support SB 1037 – Improve permanency for teens in foster care by eliminating Independent Living as “permanency goal”

The FY2011 Unified ECE Agenda

The Unified ECE Agenda was developed by the Goal 5 (Public Policy) Work Group of Virginia’s Plan for Smart Beginnings, co-chaired by Voices for Virginia’s Children and the Virginia Early Childhood Foundation. The Agenda is a plan to cpntinue to strengthen school readiness and secure Virginia’s future economic success.
