Early childhood educators, speak up during the 2021 General Assembly Session!

Voices is recruiting a cohort of early childhood educators to participate in virtual advocacy visits during the upcoming General Assembly Session. During a virtual “Playdate at the Capitol” early educators will be connected to their state elected representatives to share more about their work with you children and how state lawmakers can support early learning and early childhood educators.

Apply to participate in the advocacy cohort before November 23rd by completing the application below.

The cohort is expected to participate in these activities between December 2020 and February 2021. The time commitment will be approximately eight hours over three months.

December 2- 11: Advocacy and storytelling training opportunity (1-2 hours)

December 14- 18: Recruit additional meeting participants and review meeting materials (3 hours)

January 4- 31:  Virtual meeting with state delegates and senators, scheduled by Voices (1 hour)

February 2021: Debrief and thank you meeting (1-2 hours)

Participants will receive a stipend of $200 for their contributions.

This opportunity is perfect for educators who want to share their passions for working with young children with elected officials. Legislation and talking points will focus on how public investment can improve pay equity for early educators.

This cohort will collaborate with other advocacy opportunities and other virtual “playdate” opportunities. Stay tuned for more ways to participate!
