The Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services is sponsoring an evening at the Bowtie Theater-Movieland in Richmond to raise awareness about children’s mental health.

The event will kickoff at 5:00 p.m. with a welcome reception and a FREE DINNER, and informational tables from  organizations that focus on children’s mental health, adolescent substance abuse, early childhood services, suicide prevention. The reception will be followed by a screening at 6:15 p.m. of “Hear Our Voices,” an award-winning film made in association with Tennessee Voices for Children. The film showcases youth with mental health challenges and the sweeping changes needed in the delivery of mental health services, including the importance of community-based treatment.
