“Virginia Parents’ Plea: Crisis Money for Kids”

Posted:  -  By: Voices for VA's Kids

Fairfax county parent advocate, Cristy Gallagher, along with Voices Executive Director, Margaret Nimmo Crowe, was interviewed in a recent Virginia Public News Service segment on crisis money for Virginia’s children.  Cristy explains why it is critical for the House to agree to the Senate’s proposed increase for children’s mental health services when the legislature returns to debate the budget.   Parent advocates have a powerful voice.  Thank you for speaking out, Cristy!

“It’s a modest amount of money that gets an amazing return on investment,” Nimmo Crowe said. “For some kids, this treatment is helping them stay in school and live up to their potential. For other kids, it’s literally saving their lives.”
