Rachel Fried

Director

Rachel Fried is a project manager whose work is focused on educating stakeholders about new IT implementations and the importance of building trust.  She learned about Voices for Virginia’s Children three years ago while working for a similar 501(c)(3), Virginia’s Health Information Exchange.  Her work has revolved around numerous capacities such as social determinants of health supporter, data sharing advocate, project manager, event coordinator, and community connector to ensure providers share information on and advocate for the persons under their care.  For example, creating a history of suicide alert to providers connected to the HIE, so care coordinators, social workers, and nurse navigators could coordinate care.

Current volunteer activities include donating blood with the Red Cross, removing invasives and planting Virginia native plants, and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students at her alma mater.  During Voices’ 201s9-2020 efforts around Mental Health, Rachel was concurrently promoting interoperability and grant discussions with hospitals, health plans, behavioral health providers like Community Services Boards, and opioid treatment facilities. Rachel has worked with several other non-profit organizations and has advocated for a variety of public health causes.
