RTRVA: Community Screening & Discussion of “Pushout”

Youth justice advocates and community members are invited to a free, in-person screening of “Pushout: The Criminalization of Black Girls in Schools” on Thursday, September 1, 2022, 5:30 – 8:00 PM, at Richmond’s historic Robinson Theater in Church Hill. Join us for community and conversation as we #StandWithBlackGirls in preparation for the new school year.
Schedule:
- 5:30 PM – Welcome
- 6:00 – 7:30 PM – Screening of “Pushout: The Criminalization of Black Girls in Schools”
- 7:30 PM – Small group discussion and restorative activities led by community leaders and advocates
This free event is hosted and presented by Richmond advocates for youth, and brought to you by the following organizations: Brown Ballerinas for Change, ChildSavers, Greater Richmond SCAN (Stop Child Abuse Now), Voices for Virginia’s Children, You Glow Girl Network, and YWCA.
A light boxed dinner is being provided by Church Hill Activities & Tutoring (CHAT). RSVP now to reserve your ticket and boxed meal. Vegetarian options will be available as supplies last.
Masks are strongly encouraged for this indoor event despite vaccination status.
