Liz Nigro, Ph.D, is the Director of Research at Voices for Virignia’s Children. The Director of Research leads Voices’ data collection, analysis, and research to model possibilities and inform policies that promote youth well-being.

Liz is a former public school elementary teacher, who worked in general and special education in Washington, DC. Following four years of teaching she transitioned to graduate school to better address systems of segregation and inequity in educational opportunity.

In May, she earned her doctorate in Research Statistics and Evaluation at the University of Virginia. During her time at UVA, she interned for the Bridges Collaborative and worked on partner-research projects relating to school systems change, youth participatory action research, school integration, classroom censorship, as well as early childhood education.
