Neel Saxena
Neel Saxena is the Managing Director of Strategic Development at National Coalition for Asian Pacific American Community Development (National CAPACD). In this role, he leads efforts to strengthen strategic partnerships and advance the organization’s mission to improve the quality of life for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.
Neel joins National CAPACD from Fair Chance in Washington, DC, where he served as the Chief Advancement Officer. At Fair Chance, he successfully developed virtual and hybrid fundraising programs that supported capacity building for small, community-based nonprofits. His innovative approaches and leadership significantly enhanced the organization’s impact and reach.
Prior to his tenure at Fair Chance, Neel was the Executive Director of Asian American LEAD (AALEAD). Under his leadership, AALEAD saw substantial growth in its grant portfolio, increased the number of youth supported, and enhanced its reputation and standing in the DC area. His commitment to youth development and community empowerment was evident in the organization’s achievements during his leadership.
Neel’s career also includes 11 years in the DC government, where he created a language access program for DC Agencies and managed a community grant program. His work in government demonstrated his dedication to equity, inclusion, and community engagement.
Neel holds a BA from the University of Maryland and an MPP from American University. His educational background and extensive experience in nonprofit leadership and public service uniquely position him to drive strategic development at National CAPACD.
