The Carol S. Fox MAKING KIDS COUNT Award
In 2012, Voices for Virginia’s Children established the Carol S. Fox MAKING KIDS COUNT Award to be presented annually to an individual and an organization in recognition of exceptional efforts to better the lives of Virginia’s children. Carol Spaulding Fox is a co-founder and former long-time board member at Voices.
Award Criteria:
Individuals and organizations that have made exceptional contributions to improving the lives of Virginia’s children are eligible for nomination. Their contributions may have been in public policy advocacy, public awareness and education, program development, service delivery, leadership of child-serving initiatives or organizations, civic or community service, or other endeavors. Nominees’ efforts should demonstrate or result in many of the following criteria:
The selection committee will also consider individuals or organizations that have made a significant impact for children during a shorter period of time, reserving the option to present additional awards to rising stars. Since the inception of the award, the selection committee has chosen to recognize honorees from varied regions of the commonwealth who work on a variety of children’s issues.
Please note: Elected officials are NOT eligible for the MAKING KIDS COUNT Award.

Selection Process:
A committee appointed by Voices will evaluate nominations and select the honorees. Committee deliberations are confidential and decisions are final. The awards will be presented at a reception in Richmond on October 4, 2018.
