The Virginia Art Therapy Association and the Children’s Museum of Richmond are teaming up to highlight the need of mental health services on May 9, 2012, Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day. “Heroes of Hope” will recognize children who have been victims of trauma, their parents and caregivers who have represented hope to these children. Virginia Art Therapy Association is accepting artwork from children ages 4-18 who have been victim of trauma. Artwork of all kinds will be accepted- deadline is April 30. For more information, view the VATA website. The art will be exhibited at the Children’s Museum on May 9.
