Racial Truth & Reconciliation VA: Committee Launch Event

In 2020, Virginia’s first Racial Truth & Reconciliation Week, which was recognized by Governor Ralph Northam was launched. Now, the initiative has evolved into the Racial Truth & Reconciliation Virginia Campaign, which empowers the voices and experiences of marginalized communities in acknowledgement of truth to promote healing, reconciliation, and justice for children in families in Virginia. The Racial Truth & Reconciliation Virginia coalition will implement its mission on the ground-level through the work of the advocacy and activism engagement, partnerships, and education committees. Through the work of the campaign and in collaboration with the Voices multi-issue policy staff and team, we are poised to promote trauma-informed, equity-informed, and justice-informed policy through systems change.
