Advocacy Day at the General Assembly: Thursday, January 26, 2012

Posted:  -  By: Voices for VA's Kids

A huge thank you to everyone who participated in Children’s Mental Health Advocacy Day on January 26th! We had a great turnout of parents, pediatricians, Voices’ board members, friends and fellow advocates who packed the 7thfloor conference room for our legislative breakfast. We were thrilled to have two former first ladies of Virginia in attendance supporting the cause: Voices’ board member Anne Holton and her mother, Virginia Holton, a founding board member of Voices for Virginia’s Children. A special thanks to all the legislators who took time out of their busy schedules to attend, including our budget patrons Senator Emmett Hanger, Delegate Dickie Bell, and Delegate Patrick Hope. After the breakfast, our advocates took to the halls to meet with their legislators about the need to provide funding for children’s mental health services.
